The Solomon Islands Chinese Association gives every student a red envelope — 红包 — at Chinese New Year.
Annual Speech
Our school-wide speech competition, where students build the confidence to stand up and speak. Every class puts forward its speakers, who prepare a piece of their own and deliver it in front of the whole school.
Book Week
A week of reading, storytelling and the much-loved book-character parade, in the library and in every classroom.
Culture Night
An evening of song, dance, costume and food from every culture in our school — Chinese, Solomon Islander and beyond. Hosted by the school, performed by our students, and watched by families from across the community.
Prize Giving Day
The final assembly of the year: prizes for academic achievement, effort and citizenship, performances by each level, and a farewell to our graduating students.

How to join Chung Wah.

Places open at every level, from kindergarten to Year 9. Most children start at the beginning of the school year, and mid-year entry can be arranged where places allow.

Contact the school office. We encourage families to come and see the classrooms and meet the staff.

Complete the application form and submit it with your child's birth certificate, reports from a previous school, and photographs.

Depending on the year level, your child may sit an entrance assessment or attend an interview.

Once a place is offered, you will receive an offer letter setting out the steps to complete enrolment.
